Today we headed to Hammonasset Beach State Park for a beach day!! The weather was perfect with just a little breeze and lots of sun and warm. First things first......cool time in the truck!!
We arrived at the park and stopped for lunch at a Picnic Area with a great view. Tim and I had our fuelings and Garrett and Grandma Sutton had some sandwiches and some veggie straws. Yummy!!
Thankfully they had a bathroom at the picnic area that was just a short walk away. Garrett wanted to walk with me :) On our way back was a older worker on a tractor. He stopped to let Garrett climb up and sit and look. How awesome is that!! Garrett of course LOVED it!!
We saw these birds which later we found out were Osprey. They had several nests throughout the state park.

We then headed over to the beach and it was great!! Very clean, the water was nice. The only bad thing was it was a bit hard on the feet not as sandy as other beaches we have been to. It was still very nice though and we would definitely go again. Garrett of course had a great time playing in the sand. Unfortunately, Tim's mom forgot her bathing suit :( so she got to sit on the beach and take pictures :)
They had several different beaches where you could park and go but we chose the one on the end. Each section had it's own bathroom with picnic tables under a pavilion. They just built these and they were very nice. After we got cleaned up we headed out for dinner. We stopped in Mystic at the Mystic Boathouse. Waiting for Dinner!!

The 3 of us had Lobster and it was Yummy!! By the time we got home it was around 7 pm and Garrett was tired and cranky from not having a very good nap so it was shower time and bedtime for him. Was a great day!!
