Early this morning we headed into Providence, RI to hop on the MBTA to Boston. We've taken the MBTA previously from Sharon but that was a much smaller station. We found our train and got on with no issue. Was much easier as the train itself was pretty empty since this is where they were starting from. Garrett of course loved it and was enjoying watching out the window. I think secretly we all enjoyed it. Although 1/2 way through Garrett got tired and watched an app on my phone for the rest of the trip. The train itself took about an hour to get to Boston and the sun was just beginning to come up as we left the station. The ride stops at several stations along the way to pick up other passengers and goes through farmland, tunnels, and cities. Definitely a great way to travel into the city. We arrived at South Station in Boston. So excited!! Taking photos in front of our train. We walked out of the Train Station to grab a taxi. Hopefully this rain will quit soon. On the way out a Seagull was posing for us :) Some of the Taxi's they had were Minivans and since there was 4 of us that was the vehicle we chose. It cost us about $8 to go from South Station to over where the Aquarium is. We got to the pier and asked directions at another trolley stand of where we needed to go. Lots of trolley companies to choose from. Heading towards our Trolley Stand. Really hoping this rain stops soon....... Getting all checked in to take our Trolley Tour!! The gentlemen helping us was so friendly and gave us lots of good information :) Getting ready to board our Trolley!! Starting our Trolley Tour with Old Town Trolley. We knew our first stop would be stop 2, Paul Revere's house. Most of the stuff is just a short walk from where the Trolley stops. Getting off the Trolley at our first stop. Getting our bearings of where we need to go. Wish this rain would stop......my map is pretty much unreadable at this point :( These bikes you see here are all over the city and they are available to rent. It's actually pretty cool since this isn't a good driving city. Heading to Paul Revere's House. Garrett was excited to see the Firetruck. They sure park them in tight...... Waiting for the trolley. Back on the Trolley and ready to go. Enjoying our drive around Boston :) Having fun with the bus drivers mirrors :) My husband does some pretty cool things with the camera!! Boston is a very beautiful city with lots of cool things to see!! It was time for Lunch so we decided to get off at Stop 7. Hmmmm, where should we eat?? Well, Cheers of course!! I mean it is where everybody knows your name :) We headed upstairs and they seated us at the table. So cool!! This was on my bucket list of places to visit :) The room we were seated in was part of the bar. They had all kinds of different pictures on the wall as well as a Moose Head. Garrett was loving looking at the pictures and different memorabilia, scratch that, he was watching the Red Sox play Baseball on the TV :) Time to head back up to the street. The Cheers Sign showing where the restaurant is. My favorite picture!! Garrett is saying YEAH Cheers!! After lunch, we headed over to Boston's Park. This area was beautiful!! Swans, Ducks, Geese, Squirrels, Birds. Garrett had a great time chasing them all :) They had duck statues in the middle. All of the kids were having such a great time playing on them. The Swans. They were so beautiful!! They actually have swan boats you can ride on, however, due to the rain they weren't operating them :( That just means we will have to make a trip back to the city :) This park is absolutely beautiful!! The weeping willow trees, the green grass, everything is just perfect!! The bridge that crosses over the pond. Garrett and I posing for pictures. Garrett had a great time going up and down the steps. Garrett was having a lot of fun exercising and exploring :) He found some duck feathers and was throwing them in the water. The ducks must have thought it was food because they kept coming over to see what he was throwing in. The ducks were definitely giving us a show!! Garrett having fun chasing the squirrels, and the Geese. He got pretty close a couple of times..... Tim and I both thought this water fountain resembled a cross. Getting ready to head back to the trolley stop. We got back on the trolley, and this one was higher up. So we sat up top and really got a great view of the city!! The buildings were all very different and several of them had statues in front of them. Next stop.....Fenway Park!! When Garrett is older we will definitely be back to go to a game :) Next we drove past a garden that the residents can use to plant their own vegetables. You pay to have your own plot of land. I've seen several other places use this method as well and think it's genius!! Kudos to Boston for integrating it into their city as well!! Very busy city!! Crossing over the river to head to MIT and Harvard. MIT and Harvard. Definitely a place I would love to come back and explore more after Garrett becomes a little older. For now we will just take a short trolley tour. The building were very neat and very different. Some of the most intelligent people are living and going to school on this side of the river!! Getting ready to head back over the River. So many statues!! You would need at least a full week in the city to experience most of what it has to offer!! Driving past the Boston Tea Party Ships. Definitely another place we will be back to visit after Garrett gets a little older. Heading through more of the city. Garrett was slowly starting to wake up. We arrived back to our original trolley location and it was time for Dinner. We headed back over to Legal Sea Foods to have our dinner and it was very good. We finished up and went and got our taxi for our ride back to South Station. We ended up getting home about 10 pm. Had a great day in Boston, I absolutely love this city!!
