Having fun with Dad & Grandma in the morning. One of the hardest things about Garrett being in Preschool is not being with Tim all the time so this time with his Daddy is precious!! After we got up and around we decided to head out to the Fall Festival. The first place we stopped was the apple coring station. He had so much fun turning the handle and watching the apple change. Plus eating it after he was done was the added bonus!! After that we headed over to the touch station. Garrett got to feel the different kinds of animal skins. It was neat to feel the different textures and how soft some of them were. His favorite were the bird feathers. He liked getting tickled with them :) After that we headed over to the craft table. They had a fabric canvas and were letting the kids paint one of their hands to put on the canvas. I have this hanging up in our bedroom now and it's a reminder what a wonderful day we had that day. Garrett of course loved painting his hand and getting messy. After you were done they had hand wipes to get the paint off. So much fun!! Garrett got to pick anything he wanted for his face painting......what did he pick.....a snake, the thing Grandma Sutton hates the most....... Next stop.....corn husking!! This was so much fun for Garrett. The only thing I wish they would have done at the end was let the kids keep the corn husk. I wish I would have asked now :( Learning about soil....well Tim is......Garrett is running up and down the hill and playing in the dirt :) These boy scouts were doing something with the rope. We didn't stay very long to watch because Garrett didn't seem very interested. Home Depot had tables set up where you could build boats. So Tim took Garrett and had fun building a boat with him. Garrett still has the boat on his dresser. He will occasionally pull it down and look at it. Since learning about this we've been to several Home Depot shops and have built other things with Garrett. They had an owl, as well as some owls feet. Garrett liked taking the two feet together and pretending they were fighting with each other. I don't think he knew what to think about the owl. He sure was a beauty though!! Next up.....nature hike and to learn about the trees. Garrett lasted about 20 minutes before he got tired of stopping all the time and having to be quiet and still. Definitely not his thing!! He needs to be moving!! Phew, we just made it to say hi to Smokey the Bear!! Playing in the Hay. This was the highlight I think of all the kids. It was so cute!! Garrett had a little girl come hold his hand to help him across some hay bundles and then when he was laying on the ground another little girl came and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He sure seems to attract the girls!! So much fun!! Last thing we watched was a hard working log cutting machine. Then it was time to head back to Grandma Beverly's house. It was a fun day and I think Garrett had a great time and even learned a little bit in the process!!
