15 years ago I married my wonderful husband. It seems like it was just yesterday. We have had many struggles during our marriage but knew giving up was not an option. We've weathered our storms and have had some really wonderful times as well. But isn't that what Marriage is about? Sticking together even through the difficult times. Honestly, I think those difficult times brought us closer together in the long run, and I have never felt closer or loved my husband more than I do today. Each year my love for him grows more. I can't wait to see what the next 15 years has in store for us!! Today was a great day!! We started off by taking Garrett to the Reid Park Zoo here in Tucson. With our Museum Membership we were able to go at no charge. This was Garrett's first time going to a Zoo so we weren't sure what to expect from him. He did great!! We started off in South America looking at the bears, monkeys, cougars, and a couple of other animals. We then headed over to see the Giraffes. We also saw a Peacock that had his feathers open on display. So pretty!! Garrett was loving everything. He was watching all of the animals and listening to the people around him. On the other side of us were Antelopes, more Peacocks, and a Rhino. It was finally time to feed the Giraffes. Their tongues are so long and they wrap around the carrot you are taking. It was really neat, something that none of us have done. They told us when we are feeding them that they don't like to be touched so only hold out the carrot for them to take. Next stop, Elephants. They were in a really playful mood!! Oh look a snake in a tree, lets feed Garrett to it, LOL. Just kidding, it was a fake snake. These animals were really putting on a show for us today. The Grizzly Bears were playing with each other. The Volunteer said they were brother and sister and were 2 years old. They weren't very big a normal Grizzly can reach up to 9 feet tall. YIKES!! A momma Turtle and her baby. Garrett just had to play inside the shell of one. Tim took a picture of the fighter jets flying overhead. One of the birds decided to get in line with them, LOL. Next was the hands on exhibit where Garrett got to pet a Hedgehog and Armadillo. Garrett really liked the Monkeys. They were grooming each other and he thought that was the neatest thing!! He also liked to watch the little birds and the children as well. Flamingos were next, their area was very pretty. Last stop was the Tigers. For some reason they were keeping them in separate cages. Got the Souvenir Penny for Garrett and headed out. This was a wonderful little Zoo. A perfect first time for Garrett. Took us about two hours to get through so not too long and everything held his attention. I highly recommend this for anyone with little ones. We then headed back to the RV for lunch and to take a nap. We got up around 2:30 and headed out to Saguaro National Park. We stopped at the Visitor Center and spoke with one of the Volunteers. He asked us the age of Garrett and was amazed when we told him ten months. He said he was very alert for a ten month old. Very aware of his surroundings. He loves to people watch and look and touch things. I'm not sure if he is more like me or Tim in that sense because we are both the same for that. Was a great park, although next time we will be coming early in the morning since that is when you see the activity with the animals. Garrett loves to look at himself in the mirror and yesterday was no exception. He can only see himself when we first put him in his car seat and he sits forward. He thinks it is great and we think it is hilarious to watch him.
