My Grandma Bancroft was a wonderful Grandmother. She lived next door to us and we were always trekking next door over to her house. She taught me how to make Peanut Butter Cookies and always let us lick the spoon. She loved Jesus more than anything and was always reading her bible or listening to Christian Music on the radio. She was a giver and loved me with all of her heart. She was the first one to let me steer a car and was a kid at heart. I remember so many times coming home from church on Sunday and there were wild flowers. She would stop and go and help us pick them in the woods. Sometimes after church she would take us to McDonalds or Dairy Queen for a special treat. She is a wonderful example of what a Christian following Jesus should be. I miss her and love her so much. Some day I will get to see her in Heaven.
My Grandma Amon was always cooking, canning or sewing. She taught me that hard work would always pay off and to never be lazy. So many of our dresses for church on Sunday came from her. She was an amazing seamstress!! Even though at the time I couldn't wait to get back into my pants, LOL. I remember going to her house at Thanksgiving and how she had always made a huge meal!! Her Dressing was always my favorite. At Christmastime we had our stockings set out and she always took us out Easter shopping. I miss her and love her and can't wait to see her in Heaven as well.
My sister Joyce is a mother to 3 amazing kids. Man did I look up to her while we were growing up. I always wanted to be like my big sister!! She's had to persevere through a lot of hard stuff but has always came out ahead. She has taught me that no matter what to always keep your chin up and that this too shall pass!! I love my sister, she is my Best Friend!!
My sister Debra was always my side kick. Man could we get into some trouble!! She is a step-mom now to an amazing little girl. She taught me to appreciate the arts. She is an amazing artist herself. So many times I've thought to slow down and appreciate the simple things in life and I believe this has come from her. I love my sister!! She is my other best friend!!
My Husband's Grandma Iris Jerger was another wonderful example to me and I am so fortunate to have been able to spend the time with her that I did. She taught me that no matter what age you are you can still have fun!! To love deeply and sometimes you just have to take a deep breath and move forward. I'll never forget her with a sledge hammer in her hand taking out a wall in our house when she was in her 80's. I hope I have that much spunk when I get to be her age. She was a wonderful Grandmother who I can't wait to hug in Heaven!!
My Mother In Law Linda Sutton has been such a joy in my life. When I am cooking I often find myself thinking how she would tweak a recipe. She has the best Zucchini Bread and her Lasagna is to die for!! She makes the best ceramics and puts so much love and attention into each piece she makes. I love our Christmas Village that she has made us!! She loves her family so much!! She is always up to an adventure and we love to travel with her!! I remember the first trip we took together was to Niagara Falls. She doesn't slow down even after being retired and I hope to follow her example as I get older!! She is a wonderful Christian women who has an angelic voice. I'm so glad that Garrett gets to call her Grandma and I get to call her Mom!!
My own mom, Beverly Amon. Wow, where do I start....she was a stay at home mom for us 3 girls. She always put her kids first no matter what. She is one of the reasons why I love to travel so much. So many camping trips as kids where she would let us be the kids we were. When we were sick she was always there by our side sleeping with us or even on the floor to make sure we were ok. She always had us in church on Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday nights. She is part of the reason I love Jesus so much!! She made sure we made it to every cousins wedding, I think with all of the cousins I have we have only missed 1 wedding!! She has a love of family that most try to duplicate but always seem to come short on. She let me know that its ok to have fun and dance around the house. She showed me how to cook dandelions, and how sometimes coloring is good even as an adult. She let me have a pet chicken that I would ride around on my handlebars. I loved the vacations we took together and the adventures we had as a family. I would sit up front between my parents and my mom would show me on the map where we were and where we were going. She always made each trip we took an adventure. She let us know that it was OK to be a kid, we didn't need to grow up too fast. She drew up the house plans for the house I grew up in. She loves crafts, and I won't forget the Christmas that her and I made tons of cookies for gifts for our family. She is an amazing Mom who I love so much and I am so thankful that Garrett has her for his Grandma!!
