The last day of the month of January is a hard day for me. My dad on January 31st 10 years ago to the day passed away. I was very close to my father and I know that Garrett would have loved him so much. I want to keep my father's memory alive and I tell Garrett stories of his grandpa a lot. So this post is to honor my father's memory. He was definitely a great man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren very much!!
I'm going to bundle the rest of January up into one blog post. Not a lot happening....Today January 23 was errand/grocery shopping day along with Garrett having a melt down in the car for who knows what. Grocery shopping....ugh. I LOATHE shopping with my husband. Don't get me wrong I love my husband. But he has to look at every single label, and he piddle farts around and adds additional items to the cart. I'm the type of person that gets in and gets out. He likes to look and take his time. We are definitely opposites when it comes to that. Garrett however, was enjoying it :) The rule is if you are good grocery shopping you can pick something out at the end or get a cookie. This time he picked one of the super hero drinks. He sure enjoyed it when he got home! The next day we decided to head to Ikea for the day. We love this place for finding nifty storage ideas for our RV and they have a kids area where Garrett can go and play for an hour while we look. Win/Win for all of us. Garrett of course was enjoying his kindle on the way there. Our hour was up before we knew it so we headed back downstairs to get Garrett and then went to the diner they had inside. After lunch we went to the bunkbed/loft area for kids to get some ideas and Garrett was enjoying himself on all the beds :) The play area seemed to really tucker Garrett out, he fell asleep on the way home. My sweet little boy, the only child I know of that can fall asleep with something in his mouth, LOL. The next day Tim had to work so Garrett and I got busy on cleaning the house. He loves to help me vacuum!! Little did I know while I was in the kitchen doing the dishes, Garrett was taking selfies on my phone ;) Such a goofball!! We then decided to head out to the Dartmouth Mall play area to get out of the house for a little while. Being goofy making faces with Mom :) He then decided to fight with his super heroes. I love to watch him play with his toys!! Before we knew it this day had come to an end and it was bath time. Got to get it in now before we get back on the road and it's just showers again!! The next day was once again spent inside. This time Tim was off and Garrett enjoyed playing tools with his dad. Doesn't everybody watch two screens at once??? Lunch time. The only child I know of that actually wants to eat vegetables and fruit ;) Well that's it for our month of January. Not a whole lot going on but what we did get out and do we definitely had fun with!! The last day of the month of January is a hard day for me.
