July 5 - Today Lane and I went out shopping for some items for Garretts homeschool. I found this board and these felt pieces for Creation Week. I love this. We will put ones on each day for what the Lord created. July 6 - Ugh it is so darn hot!! Its not even pleasant going outside during the day time. Even Chloe and Sassy play laying down, LOL. July 7 - This morning Garrett had his teeth cleaned at the dentist office. They only have 1 family in at a time in the cleaning area and they are very careful and cleaning everything well. Garrett does such a good job with having his teeth cleaned. They did say they are seeing a cavity forming and wanted to know if I wanted to have it filled. I told them lets wait and see how it progresses. It's not bothering him right now and I'd hate to get a tooth filled if its not 100% absolutely necessary. Today we started Creation Week with homeschooling. Last year Garrett was in Kindergarten at the private school. He didn't progress very well so we are repeating Kindergarten again this year with me homeschooling him. I am using My Fathers World which is what I used before for his preschool. Its very gentle and he really seemed to like it. I am hoping he does well with it. Since he has Apraxia of Speech everything is much more difficult for him. Normal kids have no problems sounding out the words, Garrett has to work extremely hard to get those sounds right. I'm hoping with holding him back it helps him in the long run. Garrett is painting the box for light/dark. I love how hands on this curriculum is and how much fun it is for the kids. He even has fun snacks!! After school we went outside and had fun playing in the pool and playing with the dogs. That is Ruger on the other side of him. July 8 - Day 2 of Creation Week and today God created the sky. Playing word bingo. He LOVED playing this. It was so much fun and he was learning!! Our science experiment of how the earth and the sky are 2 different things. He would shake the jar and watch how the oil and water would separate from each other. Todays snack. These are so much fun :) We will be hanging up this poster board and adding to it every day. Today Garrett is coloring in the sky and the oceans. He REALLY got into coloring the water part, LOL!! Thankfully kids are cleanable. All that hard work today made for a very tired little boy. He got done with his shower and fell asleep on the couch. July 9 - Creation Week Day 3. God made the land and the plants. Our lunch for today Garrett had items that God made for us. The lettuce, fruit. We also had fun with pretzel sticks and M&M's to make flowers. Making some land in the fish bowl. We added our land to the poster board. Our poster board for Day 3. All of Garretts hard work makes for a tired dog, LOL. July 10 - Today Tim was off. I needed to get laundry done and we had some errands to run. Chloe knew we were getting ready to leave and gave me those eyes so she could go. Here in New Mexico it gets so HOT!! So today we went out and bought a 2nd air conditioner to put in our bedroom since Tim is sleeping in there during the day. It has made a HUGE difference and now our RV is staying in the 70's instead of the 80's. BTW days here are in the high 90's/100's and its always sunny. July 12 - Cleaning day and dogs playing. Garretts room, ugh.....I really have to figure something out for this homeschooling stuff!! July 13 - Garrett was being goofy today. Today we also did Day 4 - Gods creation of the Sun, Moon and Stars. We had a star and sun for lunch today :) Painting the sun for our poster board project. We also made our telescope to look at the moon tonight. Garrett thought this was so awesome!! Playing outside with the dogs after we were done. July 14 - Creation Week Day 5 Fish and Birds. Recreating the story on our story board. Today we had fish for our snack that were swimming in our ocean pudding, LOL. Then Garrett picked out a kids cuisine that was deep sea chicken nuggets. Putting our birds and fish on our poster board. This is probably my favorite so far of his hand prints it is so darn cute!! For our dinner tonight we had fish sticks. So yummy!! So far our poster board is coming along nicely!! July 15 - Day 6 Creation Week. Today God created the people and animals. I love how these lunches they suggest are so creative. Garrett is loving it!! The dogs are exhausted from watching, LOL..... Our books for today. Garrett put the people and animals on our poster board and we did our story board today as well. Putting our poster board back up. Garrett loves it!! Today Garrett was also practicing his ABC's along with writing them. We also played bingo again. So much fun!! After school was done we headed outside so all the dogs could play together! July 16 - Day 7 today God rested. We did our handprint and watched a video on creation. Apparently I am a couch for Chloe ;) Garrett had fun loving on the dogs and playing outside with them for the rest of the day :) July 17 - Playing outside, playing inside and playing with dinosaurs!! Tug of war between the dogs.... I told Garrett not to get in the middle of it, that he was going to end up getting hurt because they play rough. Did he listen nope....he came crying to me because this happened..... He said he's mad at the dogs.....I don't think the dogs care..... Playing inside. Making good use of his bedroom :) We had a quick storm come through and this was after. Man it was beautiful and look at that rainbow!! We had some dinosaurs come for a visit......Garrett really LOVED this!! Thanks again Lane for showing us this awesome dino trick!! All that outdoor play time makes for a tired dog :) July 20 - MFW Sun week so much fun!! We started out with our calendar. This is super RV friendly as I can shut it and place it behind his stuff when not in use. Perfect for us!! We had our sun snack for today. We took our grapes out after our snack and placed them on the car. We will be putting them outside every day to see if they turn into raisins. I have a feeling here in the New Mexico sun we won't have a problem with this..... Scissor activity....no problem. Writing activity.....lord help us. He HATES this part of school. Cuisinaire rods for Math. Loves it! Watching Owlegories. We have several devotional shows we watch and this is one of them. I absolutely LOVE this show!! We made our sun visor. Today was a fun day of learning :) July 21 - This morning we put our grapes out again. Interesting to see how much they have already turned..... Today we made a solar oven and had Teresa and Lane help us. We did smores in it. Was interesting to see how it would work. Garrett had his lunch today. They were sun pizzas :) Our solar oven is definitely melting the chocolate.....It didn't melt the marshmallows but irregardless it still tasted yummy!! He did such a horrible job on this worksheet that I made him do it again on another one. Doing our Sun week craft. Our books for today. July 22 - Today we put some items in a muffin baking pan to see what would melt and what wouldn't. We did a spreadsheet and we each put our opinion on it before we put it outside. Was interesting to see that on some things we were wrong..... We then did our work. Garrett fought me on the handwriting. Seems to be a pattern here..... Using the scissors and glue is so much more fun!! Back to handwriting. This time wasn't as bad. Sassy was busy napping on the couch.... We went out for lunch after Garrett was done with school and I had this yummy chicken pot pie. So good that I brought one home for Tim. Garrett had fun playing outside with the dogs. Always using his imagination..... Garrett of course always has fun playing with Lane. He's sitting just like Lane. How funny.... Later on after Tim woke up we finished researching our experiment. This was a fun one!! On our spreadsheet below. The ones in red are what actually happened to each item. Today was a great day. Sassy agrees by just chillin under the table. July 23 - Went out this morning and put our grapes outside. They are really turning. Its pretty neat to watch. Garrett got his new face masks today in the mail. While I was getting ready for the day Garrett was watching Hotel Transylvania. He didn't know I was taping him and he was mimicking everything the characters were doing. It was so funny to watch!! School started with Garrett practicing his letter sounds. Writing his number for the week. Somehow a stormtrooper has invaded our home and is doing Garrett's work for him.....He does good work, LOL :) Painting his sun craft for the day. Our books for the day. Today was a pretty good day :) July 24 - Today we started the day by cleaning out the truck and the dogs chillin in the yard. Sassy looks like she is drinking out of the straw of the cup. So funny..... Since we are still on Sun week we are making sun tea today. We put our tea and our grapes outside for today and boy it didn't take long for the water to start getting colored with the tea. I had also purchased some sun paper and we put that out as well. Going to see if the toys he used transfers to the paper. We then headed in to start our day. He did this worksheet all by himself and didn't do too bad on it. Working on writing his number for the week. Well the paper is changing color. We will see how it turns out.....unfortunately not great. I think it would have been better if we would have used something that laid flat. Doing our S craft for today. Our books for today. The sun sure did a great job for our sun tea. Look how good that looks. July 25 - Our last day of Sun week. Our grapes have definitely turned and are starting to look like raisins. Today he had to draw 4 pictures today of things that began with S. When I was going pass the flag today I noticed we had a cricket on our flag. Sun week turned out great! We had a great 3rd week of school and look forward to moon week when we come back from Arkansas.
