I got up very early about 4:00 am and we headed out. They finally got her back about 5:30 and by 7:30 she was being wheeled back to surgery. The surgery took about an hour and our Pastor from Cridersville, John and his wife Barb came to sit with me. I was so very thankful to have them there. The surgery was successful and at noon they took her up to her room. They said it would be a couple of hours before she would be really awake and for me to head home if I wanted to.
I went to Alisha's picked up Garrett and we headed back to my mom's house. I actually wasn't feeling all that great got home and unfortunately I ended up with the stomach flu that Garrett had. While we were sitting on the couch both sick Garrett pushed our dog Bailey. She has very sore feet, her nails get so brittle they fall off and when he pushed her he must have hurt her in the process. She immediately lunged at him and bit him in the face. It was not good, he was bleeding as she got him right under the eye and on the nose. Ugh, this day is not going my way!!
I called the rest of my family told them what was going on and advised that I wasn't going back to the hospital while I was ill. My sister Joyce and her husband Rob went to the hospital to be with our mom that evening. Mom was at St. Rita's hospital for about 3 days before they sent her to where she would be having Rehab which was Dorothy Love here in Sidney. The ambulance took her straight from the hospital directly to her room at the rehab facility.
Needless to say by the end of the week Garrett and I were feeling better and we headed to the house to do some yard work. Garrett was having lots of fun playing with the large branches that fell in the yard!!
