Super excited to head out this morning, but first thing first....get this boy out of his pajamas!
We finally got on the road at about 7:30. At about 9:00 AM I received a message flashing in front of me on the truck saying I needed to add diesel exhaust fluid and I only had 360 miles left to go. What the hey who......so we stopped at a gas station to get some breakfast and I noticed they had DEF inside. I purchased some and went out to the truck to add it. Now mind you this is something that I have never done, and our dually truck is taller than I am. Here I am trying to lift a 5 gallon jug of DEF into the top of the hood while attempting to stand on the tire because I did not have a stool. Needless to say I was pretty irritated with my husband at that moment in time. I finally did get what I could inside the truck. Not a great start to our trip!!
We continued to make it through Nebraska but after the DEF episode I had a raging headache that would not go away. Somewhere on the other side of Nebraska Sassy our dog decided that one of Garrett's toys looked good enough to eat. Yep, you guessed it, after eating said toy she then proceeded to throw it up in the back seat!! Then after crossing into Iowa Garrett decided it would be a great idea to open his door while I am driving 80 mph going down the highway. Needless to say he got yelled at and I had to pull over in the middle of heavy traffic because his door was open. OMG are we at the hotel yet??
When we started our day it said that we should get to our hotel at 4:30. We eventually got there at about 6:45. Hello Drury!! Just enough time to grab our appetizer dinner.....
