We left Beaumont around 9 AM heading towards Kingsburg, CA. The mountains were so pretty, glad we headed out on a Saturday and not during the week. I can't imagine how bad traffic is in this area at rush hour. Driving past the Miller plant. Once Garrett gets a little older I am going to look into doing some tours of some of these manufacturing facilities. I wasn't sure if this is California's subway system or not, but they had trains in the middle of the interstate along the way. Very interesting as we haven't seen this out East. Wow, can't imagine what some of these homes cost up in the mountains!! It was a very scenic drive along the way. The mountains in this area are just amazing. We are looking forward to getting down to this area for one of Tim's travel assignments. I hear a lot of people complain about the drivers in this area, however, we didn't have any issues. Most people were very nice letting us get over when we needed to. Very scenic area, sounds like there are a lot of places to go hiking. Heading into the mountains now.... Smokey Bear even has his own road!! Hitting the Tejon Pass at over 4000 feet. Traveling down the mountain. Runoff's for those trucks that can't stop. Don't think I would ever want to see that!! We made it over the mountain and are now in flat land on the other side. So amazing how quickly the terrain can change. It was nice to see some farm land again. Sad about the drought they are having. Praying that they get some rain for this area. We finally arrived in Kingsburg, CA at around 4 pm. Set up and went out to eat at a Mexican Restaurant. Going to hit the sack early tonight since we are getting up tomorrow to go to Sequoia National Park.
