This morning we headed out to Peanuts The Great Pumpkin Patch Express on the Durango and Silverton Train. They told us they have parking so we headed to their parking lot. It was full, apparently they have a parade today and let everyone else park in their parking lot. Needless to say we weren't very happy since parking a dually truck isn't the easiest. We ended up parking at the grocery store across the highway and walking over. Crossing our fingers we don't get towed for parking there. We got to the train depot and Garrett pretty quickly made friends with some other kids there. I love how easy he makes friends!! They told us the train was about 5 minutes out so we decided to head outside to watch for the train. Of course Garrett made even more friends out there, lol!! Here comes the train!! Pictures in front of the train..... Time to board and get to our seats. We got the package that included the extras. We had free drinks, a chocolate covered marshmallow goodie, and a bag of Halloween fun. Garrett's favorite thing in the package......the toothbrush, LOL!! Here we go!! Train is moving!! Eating our chocolate covered marshmallows. Yummy!! Then they started reading the Peanuts Great Pumpkin Book. Garrett was honestly more intrigued by what was happening outside than the book. Getting off the train. We have about 2 hours to go and play until the train comes back for us!! Hmmmm decisions, decisions...... Our first stop.....the bounce houses!! Then we stopped to say hi to the reindeer. Then while we were waiting for the hayride we went trick or treating. Such a cute setup for the kids!! Hmmmm, I wonder what's in here!! They hayride was so much fun, we actually rode it twice :) Next stop, the pumpkin patch for Garrett to pick out his pumpkin!! Who doesn't want to do outdoor bowling?? We were so disappointed, we thought we had missed the characters. Here is their backdrop. Next stop was the pools of corn. Oh my goodness, Garrett had the most fun in here with another little boy. They were having a great time!! First spot to play on was the slide!! Next stop was the balls and just playing in general. I've never seen this before and all of the kids loved it!! Who knew corn could make you so dirty, LOL!! Oh my goodness, we didn't miss out on the characters!! First one that came out was Snoopy!! Oh my goodness.....look Garrett it's Charlie Brown too!! Then Garrett got to go and kick a football around. He actually didn't do too bad. They gave us a 15 minute warning before the train will be arriving so we decided to head over and get in our spot. We had some time so we went over to look at the reindeer again. Here comes the train!! Time to get back in line :) On the train and heading home!! His official certificate for riding the train!! We ate lunch at the restaurant near the depot. Garrett was so tired!! We made the decision since it was so cold that we were going to tear down the tent and head home a day early. The next day was calling for rain all day and we just really didn't want to be tearing down a tent in the rain with it being cold. It was a great and fun weekend though. If you are ever in Durango we highly recommend doing this fun event!!
