Our Nephew David is a firefighter/paramedic with Santee Fire Department. This morning he took us over to the station to have a look where he works. Garrett of course was very excited about this and wore his firemen outfit and hat. To be honest this was probably Garrett's favorite part of our trip. Much more better than Legoland and Disney in his eyes :)

We then headed out to the garage area where they keep the trucks. This is a drying system that one of the firefighters thought up. It's actually a really neat system they use!!
First things first.....trying on David's coat and hat.
When he tried on David's helmet it was so heavy that his head went back, lol!!

I can't think of anyone better for Garrett to look up to. We are so proud of David and all of his accomplishments!! He worked really hard to get where he is at!!

Then they let him climb the back ladder and get into the back part of the truck. He really loved this part!!

I love this so much!! He is such a happy little boy right now experiencing this!! He was thrilled when the fireman below turned on the lights for him :)

We then headed over to Mission Beach to have lunch and go for a stroll on the boardwalk.

Garrett wanted to put his toes in the ocean. A big wave came and literally knocked him over. In hindsight I probably should have brought his beach gear with us. He wanted to play in the ocean so bad!!
Since we didn't want him to get even more sand on him Tim carried him out like a sack of potatoes ;)
Heading towards the showers. The plus side is we were just talking about needing to get some new beach towels. I guess this is our excuse to get one for today :)
While I was in the store shopping, Garrett and Tim were watching the guys on their bikes!!
We then walked to the front where they had the Belmont Amusement area.
While we were walking around I decided to try my hand at one of the games. You had a bean bag and had to try to pop the balloons. I popped the first balloon. Since I already had won one of the prizes I let Garrett throw the next one. He missed but picked a surfboard as his gift. We then went to sit down and have a snack and drink. While sitting there Garrett got out his new "surfboard" and decided to surf since he had seen the others doing it. Such a great imagination!!
We then finished up and headed back to David & Martyna's house. Such a great day!!
