This morning we got up and made a side trip to Virginia Beach, VA. This place will always hold a special spot in my heart. I lived here from the age of 18 to 22. Definitely sowed some wild oats here, and this is where I met and fell in love with my husband Tim. So coming back after all this time was a little bittersweet for me. Garrett was enjoying his view out the window while the dogs slept. They are so sweet together :) My goodness, if you didn't know these dogs you would have a hard time telling who was who in this picture..... Our drive across was very beautiful. Loved the Chesapeake Bay Bridge! Getting ready to head into the tunnel. They definitely smell that ocean air!! We stopped at Aberdeen Barn Steakhouse for lunch. We finished up and then headed to Norfolk Naval yard to see if we could get a glimpse of the big battle ships. We did get to see one and Garrett was loving it. Wish we had more time to do a tour. They have an excellent one here that I know Garrett and Teresa would have really enjoyed!! We then decided to take a drive over to the old areas we used to live in. Amazing how much changes and how much doesn't in over 20 years..... This was Tim's old house that he lived in with his brother. This one was where I lived with my sister and her family. We drove the oceanfront and looked at all of the shops and then decided it was time to head home. Such a fun day, wish we would have had more time though :( Our sunset on the way home was spectacular!!
