Today was the first day of Swim Lessons for Garrett at the YMCA. He did great. He is such a little water boy. He really enjoyed being in the pool with Tim. Plus my poor husband who worked the night before really wanted to be there so he came home and got about two hours of sleep so he could take Garrett with me. Such a good daddy!! There are 3 other kids in the class but they are all much younger than Garrett. Today's lesson we learned that the side of the pool is the safe zone. Garrett is being taught that until Mom or Dad tell him it's OK to get in he must stay sat on the side. They sang some songs and it was really a neat experience. We originally thought that only one parent could be in at a time, but the instructor told us that both of us could be in with him. So on Thursday when we go I will get in the water as well. I can't wait to see what Garrett learns. Their will be 8 classes, twice a week for a month. We think after this class Garrett should be able to go in the next class up. So far he is doing great!!

Tim kept taking him to the side and making him sit and wait until Tim gave him the OK. Our boy is toy motivated though so it helped that he had toys up on the side to play with.
Daddy finally gave him the OK and he got to get back in.
The instructor was telling the other parents that they should begin blowing in their childs face so they learn to hold their breath under the water. We have been doing this since Garrett's first time in the water so he had no issues. The other little boy however, did not like it and started crying. Garrett didn't like him crying and kept looking over at him.
