Today we got up and took Garrett to daycare and then Tim and I headed out for breakfast. Another busy day planned as we have to get the plates for the new car, and Tim needed to get finger printed for his travel position in New Mexico. We got the finger prints done but the DMV needed his social security card so we decided to do that later. We got home and started putting up the screen door on the front. This was the last bit we needed to get done and we finally finished it up. I think it looks great!! Plus both doors now have deadbolt locks. I never had that on either of the other doors and I really like that added sense of security!!
Tim got home Friday night and Saturday all of the fun started. First things first though....lunch at Panera. Tim ordered the Broccoli Cheddar Soup and Garrett wanted a bite. So Tim went up and got a bowl so he could put some of his into it. Lo and behold Garrett loved it and ended up eating about 1/2 of Tim's bowl of soup. He must be going through a growth spurt because not only did he eat 1/2 of the soup but he had a grilled cheese sandwich and a yogurt as well. We then headed to the man store "aka Lowe's" to pick out our back door that we would be putting in when we got home. Tim found the one he wanted and we headed home. It took about 4 hours to take out the old door and put in the new door, but Wow!! What a difference a new door makes. So far so good on keeping with my to do list :) The next day Sunday was time to put in the new front door. This is what the old door looked like on the front. I was busy cleaning out some items from the garage and Tim needed to run up to Lowe's to get some items so the boys went up while I stayed behind. After they got back Garrett was pretending that he was Batman :) At one point he got the stool steps and was going to jump off of them into the grass below. Thankfully I was watching and told him absolutely not.....mom always ruining the fun!! He does everything that Tim does. So if Tim gets his saw to cut, Garrett gets his play saw to cut. If Tim uses pliers, Garrett gets his out. It's so cute and he's such a good helper. Not only does he help Tim, but he also helps me. Vacuuming is one of his favorite things, so I let him go to town. We finally got the main door up and in and couldn't believe it was 6 pm. We were getting hungry so we headed out to BW3's to have some wings and watch some basketball. We got home about 7:30 and I got Garrett in the bath while Tim finished putting the hardware on the door. Today we got up and took Garrett to daycare and then Tim and I headed out for breakfast. The next project is hiring a painter to come in and paint the exterior of the front and sides of the house. Once that is done we will be putting up the new shutters. We've also purchased new railing and will have someone come out to install that as well. As soon as that all gets done it will look so nice!! After we finished up with all of that we took some of the items over to storage and then on to get Garrett. We only have 3 weekends left before Tim heads to New Mexico we are going to be busy, busy, busy.
