Columbus Zoo

I'm not sure who's more excited, me or Garrett. Taking a trip today to the Columbus Zoo. I LOVE the zoo!!  I love watching all of the different animals and seeing how they react to certain things and of course I love watching my little boys face to see how he reacts to those animals. 

We ate Breakfast at Cracker Barrel and headed on our way. Ugh heading into Columbus I started to get a belly ache.....yes when I get excited about things I get an upset tummy. My poor mother says I've been this way since I was a child. Needless to say my wonderful husband stopped and got me something to soothe my upset belly.

We made it and bonus, we get to try out Garrett's new wagon he got for his Birthday. Giving directions to his father, LOL.

 Getting our tickets and heading in. I'd say Garrett looks right at home in his new wagon.

First stop, the petting zoo.

I've saved this petting zoo picture for last, well because it has a story. Garrett was being so loving with the animals, petting them, giving them kisses. Just being his normal self. When all of a sudden this white sheep goes by and my son reaches out his hand and yanks on this poor sheep's tail. I don't mean a gentle yank either. I mean a straight out YANK! Holy crow, I thought that sheep was going to butt Garrett in the head. Unfortunately, Tim caught the end of it...just as the sheep decided it was in his better interest to just walk away. Poor sheep!! OK, time to go wash our hands.....

On to the Railroad. Garrett loves trains and this of course was no exception. Garrett and Tim got to ride twice once with me and once with Tim's Mom.

What fun!!  I'm so glad that he liked it. He also liked the Groundhog as well. The moose was just laying around.

The Polar Bear Exhibit was Garrett's favorite. It was such a neat place, and I'm so glad we can come in the middle of the week when there aren't as many people. Take a look at the videos and you will see why!!

All of the animals were being pretty playful today. The Grizzly Bear was in the water playing with one of his balls.

He was having a ball playing on the statues of the animals at the exhibits. 

Of course Mommy had to get in on the fun as well.

Next stop....Africa!!

Africa has such cool animals!!

It was a very hot day, all the kids playing in the mister.

The airplane that you could go into and see the Lions. Garrett really liked looking at the controls and driving it.

Watching the Cheetas. I didn't realize this but they only live 10-12 years so about the same as a dog. Wow, are they fast animals though.

Heading for lunch. After all that walking we've worked up quite an appetite.

Goofing off at lunch and watching a duck that decided to stop by.

Nap time for Garrett!! So happy we got the wagon. Garrett can lay down and be shaded from the sun.

Watching the Tiger. I was surprised at how active he was for it being the middle of the day.

Daddy, Mommy, and Grandma have been very bad this year. 

And......he's out!!

Oh my goodness. We loved watching the Penguins. They sure put on a show for us.

Garrett's first time on the Carousel. He LOVED it!!  He rode it about 4 times and then cried when we made him finally get off.

Next stop.....Australia.

In Australia they had a Pirate boat ride. Garrett was a little hesitant walking in, but did great on the boat.

Watching the ​orangutan and the gorillas. They weren't being very active today.

We decided to head to Hofbrauhaus German Restaurant to have dinner before going back to the RV. What fun. Garrett had a great time dancing with Grandma Sutton!!

We had a great day today. So glad we are able to experience things like this as a family!!
