Today myself, Tim and Tim's Dad Howard all headed out to the Grand Canyon. We stopped at Dunkin Donuts for Breakfast and then headed out towards Flagstaff. I was so excited because this was the 1st time I have ever seen the Grand Canyon. We got to the outskirts of the Grand Canyon and decided to stop at an Indian Store as I had to get some gifts for some friends back home. They make such beautiful items. We then stopped at the Little Colorado Scenic Overlook. It was a glimpse of what was to come. It is very difficult to put into words the beauty of this place. I'm thankful that heights do not bother me, as on several occasions we were pretty close to the edge. There were also some Indians selling items, everything they make is so beautiful. One of the pcs that really stood out for us was a storytelling plate that they had made. I now wish that was a purchase that we would have made. We then made our way to the Grand Canyon. We entered in through the gate and then stopped for lunch at the visitors center. God is AMAZING!! WOW!! It literally took my breath away and made me want to cry all at the same time. It is just amazing, the colors and the beauty of this place. And to think this is just one corner of what we are going to see. We also went up into the Watchtower and got to look out from the top. It is so hard to describe in words how wonderful the Grand Canyon is. We then stopped by the Visitor Center and stopped by several more lookouts along the way. One area we were able to hike down a little ways along the Canyon side. The last portion of the day we decided to take the Shuttle Bus around to see the Lodges and the Train Depot. On our ride on the shuttle we saw several Elk and Deer along the way. The Grand Canyon is something that everyone should definitely see at least once in your lifetime. We had such a great time and I am so glad that I was finally able to see this part of the country. I am really looking forward to continuing on with more adventures.
