I'll never forget my Grandpa's, my father's, and my Uncle Ron's funeral where they had the military rifle salute, folding of the flag, presentation of the flag, and the playing of Taps. It was so moving and to this day I cry just thinking about it. But I am also so proud of these men for serving. The flags that were given to us are something that I am very proud of. My mother has taken very good care of all three flags that are in her care for my Great Grandfather, Grandfather and my own Father. Each of us three girls will be receiving one of these flags and I look forward to handing down this flag to my own son.
Today is Memorial Day. So many men and women have sacrificed so much for our freedom. I have a long line of men in my family that have been involved in our military. If I forget you now, my apologies. The first person I remember hearing about was my Great Grandfather Amon. He received a Purple Heart for serving in WWI. My Grandpa Amon served in WWII and that is how he met my Grandmother in California. My own father served in Korea during the Vietnam War. I remember as a child being so proud of these men and I still am. My Uncle's Ron Amon, Ed Stevens and Marvin Stevens also served. My Brother In Law Scott Sutton, and Nephews who are serving or have served Josh Wood and David Feather who I am both so proud of. I know that there are many others on my Grandma Amon's side as well that have served. And last not least is my own Husband Tim Sutton. He served in the Army during the Gulf War. These men have given so much for us and for that I salute you!! Garrett and I went up to the Recreation Hall here at the RV Park today for their Memorial Day Lunch. He is definitely not a shy little boy!! He was the center of attention and we got several more offers for babysitting if we need it. It was a very nice lunch and we are really enjoying all of the wonderful people we have met and we are hoping to keep in contact with many of them after we leave this park. Tim had to work today, since on Wednesday we are leaving to go to Vegas to visit with family. Today Garrett also got up on all fours and was rocking back and forth. Maybe our little guy will crawl after all!! These pictures are from the last two days.
