Today we headed out in the AM and stopped at Dad's house to drop off his card to get into the RV Park. We then went to Red Robin to have lunch. While we were there Tim mentioned that there was a used 2500 Chevrolet Truck that he wanted to go take a look at. It was at a dealer in Surprise, AZ Sands Chevrolet. So we headed over there so Tim could take it for a test drive. We have always known that we would be replacing the truck we have now, and Tim has been looking since we will be going to Oregon and will be going over some mountains that will be better handled with a bigger truck.
Tim took the used truck for a test drive. We knew that we wanted a diesel and after he got back he asked if they had any others as he felt the transmission was slipping a bit. They said they had no used but did have new so we went out and took a look at some of those. Tim took one for a test drive and was happy with the new one over the used. We definitely weren't expecting to buy a new truck today, but that is exactly what we did. We were there from about 2 pm to 8 pm. They pulled the new truck up and Tim started moving all of our items over. When it came time to move Garrett's car seat, Tim went to put in and it wouldn't fit. Come to find out the truck they sold us was not a Crew Cab, and definitely would not work for us. So we put all of the items back in our old truck. They said they would find a Crew Cab for us and we left since the fireworks were tonight at the lake.
It was lightening and raining out when we left the dealership and we were afraid we weren't going to make the fireworks in time. We arrived at about 9 pm and were thinking they might cancel due to the rain and lightening but they did not. At about 9:30 the fireworks started. Since it was still raining out, Garrett and I stayed inside the RV and watched them with Bailey. Tim, Howard, and Barb were outside. It was a really nice firework display with some lightening in the background.
