We've been having great fun here at the RV Park while Dad works his 5, 12 hour days in a row. One of Garrett's favorite things is to play at the playground. Or play with his dump trucks..... Or check for loose teeth.... Love on his Kayley doll...... But one of his favorite things to do is watch American Ninja Warrior and pretend he is a contestant. At one point he was looking around the RV to see what he could hang off of......oh this kid!! On June 12 we decided to head out to Red Rock Museum and take a look around. It was very interesting. They had things throughout the museum that would be hands on for the kids including playing this drum, which Garrett loved!! They had a whole glass display of these Kachina Dolls. They were so cool to look at and to read about what each one signifies. Alisha, let me know if you think Kayley would like one of these. They are very neat, but can be scary so not sure if she would like one or not. I would get the most tame one I could find for her. Pueblo Country and Navajo Land. Each mural on the floor and wall represents something different.... This exhibit showed the kids how they were able to get the rugs and clothing. It was pretty neat to see how it all came together and I like the fact that Garrett was able to touch and feel to see how things worked. This next exhibit was amazing. This artist carved different Indians out of wood and it was BEAUTIFUL!! I can't imagine the number of hours it took him to do all this. Can you spot the 3 animals engraved in this one??? They also have an Indian Artist that comes in and paints their murals. It's amazing what talent these people have. Garrett's favorite was the horses. He kept coming back and looking at. Then we found some interesting seeds and things from the trees. Grandma teaching him what they were. At one point Grandma was asking a worker what one specific tree was and Garrett decided to pull his pants down and take a whiz.....OMG, talk about an embarassing mommy moment!! We decided to eat at Lot A Burger and watch for the trains (Garrett's favorite thing). We stopped by the visitor center and the gift shop next door. Found some neat things to put on our Christmas Tree :) When we first came into the gift shop they had this little dog that greeted us at the door. Garrett of course loved it!! Then the real fun happened when he brought out the baby bunny. Oh my goodness, cuteness overload!! Garrett loved it, but was very quick to give it back to the little boy. We got lots of information at the visitors center and I saw this in the magazine. Definitely going to be doing this monthly class with Garrett. Homeschooling fun at it's finest!! We ended the night with Garrett pretend cooking us dinner :) He sure did a great job!! Those pliers never tasted so good!!
