Science Works Hands on Museum

This morning we headed to Ashland to go to the Science Works Hands on Museum. We headed out on route 66, we've always traveled this at night so it was interesting to see the difference between night and day and what we didn't realize was on the road. It is a beautiful drive and the trees are still changing in this area so a bonus for us!!

We ate at Sammich in Ashland for lunch. It was excellent. If you are ever in Ashland and need somewhere to go for lunch we highly recommend this place!!  Garrett had grilled cheese, tomato soup and a pickle. It was the first time for him eating a pickle and he loved it. Was sucking on it and grinning at me, it was so cute. I am so thankful he is not a picky eater. The food was very good and it was such a nice day out that we ate on the picnic tables.

After lunch we headed to the Science Works Museum. It wasn't very big but what they had was really neat and we really enjoyed ourselves. They had an area for kids under 5 which was also nice for when they are busy but there were only a handful of kids since it was during the school day so we got our pick of what we wanted to explore. Garrett had a good time playing with all of the experiments and Tim and I even got in on the hands on experience.

We checked in for free at the front desk. Because of our membership with Boonshoft we get to go for free or 1/2 off to tons of other museums, zoos, aquariums and children's museums. The membership has already paid for itself and I highly recommend this to anyone with kids. We started off with the talking robot and Garrett was fascinated listening to him.

Tim enjoyed this one. You had to throw the ball and it measured how fast you can throw. His highest was 50 mph, and mine was 24 mph.

Tim and I both have a competitive streak, so we figured because he was stronger than me his handicap would be Garrett on his lap. You had to turn the wheels on the chair to see how far you could go. BTW I won, hee hee!!

This was such a neat little area for kids under 5. Garrett was having a really fun time playing!!

We then headed to the bubble room and boy did we have some fun in that room. We all had so much fun playing with the bubbles. 

We had a great time playing and learning in the museum and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. 

After we were done we headed over to Medford to the REI store to see if we could get some winter gloves for Tim and Garrett. We found them both a pair and then it was time to head home.

On our way home we stopped for dinner at Green Springs Inn and Restaurant. Garrett had fun putting olives on his fingers, LOL. He ate quite a bit and had a nice nap on the way home.

Today was a great day spent together. We are so fortunate to be able to travel the way we are and see and experience all we have.
