Shelby Hills Valentine Skate Party

Getting ready for school. Hopefully the good hygiene continues :)

We picked Garrett up from school to take him to his final appointment at the urologist. They said everything looked great and his incisions all were healed nicely. Next stop we had to make was the Montgomery Sheriff's Department to get Tim's fingerprints done. We are working on getting his license for Pennsylvania. We finally headed home to get ready for his skate party tonight. He had fun playing with dad before it was time to leave!!

It was finally time to head to the skate party. Garrett's first time on roller skates. Tim said that he would skate with him and I could take pictures/video. Garrett was VERY excited about it!!  

We got to the rink at 6pm and headed in. Garrett got his skates and Tim got one put on while I did the other. I forgot how heavy they are.....phew that was a lot of work!!

All done and it was time to head out to skate. When we first got out on the floor Garrett didn't have anything to hold on to. I held his hand for a little while, until he got his bearings. Eventually he didn't want anyone to touch him. He wanted to do it all by himself. We got one of the skate assistance to use and he did use that for a little while, but got tired of using that as well. He actually did pretty good for his first time. 

He had lots of friends that he was skating with, but Maggie was the one that skated with him the most. Garrett, Maggie and Brenna were all in soccer together and they are very motherly to Garrett. I'm not sure who the other girl was that also was excited to see him there. He sure has lots of friends!!

Then it was time to do the chicken dance, and the hokey pokey. This was so much fun to watch!!  All of the kids did great, and I think they were all really enjoying themselves!! If you watch none of the other videos, watch the two below. They are great!!

Skating ended at 8pm, and Garrett made it through the whole night with only taking a short break to play some video games. He had a great time and really enjoyed himself. Needless to say when he hit the pillow about 8:30 he was out :)
