Garrett is now down to only taking 1 nap a day and he keeps me very busy during the day. He still isn't walking yet on his own but uses his walker and the furniture to get around. The toy train we got for him is so neat. I think he will get lots of use out of it and it has really helped him gain some confidence to walk without holding on to the walls or furniture. So hopefully soon he will be walking on his own (I'm really hoping by Halloween).
So much has been going on that I haven't had much time to get on and blog. We've had our furnace looked at and worked on (hopefully will have back in the next couple of days), Bailey our dog had surgery on her leg, we've been trying to get our RV ready for the coming winter months and well just life in general. So I apologize for not keeping everyone updated. Garrett is now down to only taking 1 nap a day and he keeps me very busy during the day. So hopefully soon he will be walking on his own (I'm really hoping by Halloween). On October 8 our dog Bailey went in to have surgery on her leg. She had a cyst that busted open and the vet we took her to recommended that we remove it. So I took her in on Wednesday and they kept her overnight for observation. We picked her up on Thursday and she seemed to be doing well. They gave her an E collar so she would not lick at it, but they knew we live in our RV so they said we could probably use a t-shirt for her. So we've been using the t-shirt and Garrett has been having fun playing with the e-collar. Bailey had 20 staples put in her leg along with some stitches. She will be able to get them removed in two weeks. The vet we took her to in Klamath Falls has been great!! One of the best vets we have ever been to. They have called almost daily to check on her to see how she is doing and the office visits have been great. I hope we continue to find vets as awesome as they have been. I will be leaving an excellent review for them on Yelp. Well Garrett had a bit of an accident. Needless to say the floor won and now he has a bit of rug burn on his face. Hasn't stopped him though from wanting to keep going, LOL. Playing with an empty water jug. He really likes his train. Playing with his ball and shapes. Tim was taking the front off so the RV repairman could get to our furnace. Garrett is very interested in anything that Tim does so needless to say he was right in there with his daddy wanting to help and watching him use the tools. He is always so interested in how things work and wanting to take things apart. I see a play tool kit in this little guys future. We ordered Garrett's winter boots online and received them via UPS today. They fit him great with enough room for his feet to grow and I think they will be great for keeping his feet nice and warm. Finding boots for him has been a challenge. We had a hard time finding boots his size since his feet are still so small. But we finally found them on Zappos. One of the only websites that had a size 4 boot. It was funny watching him trying to walk in them since they are big and clunky. Can't wait to go sledding with him he is going to love it!! We have seen so much wildlife the last couple of days. Garrett and I were out riding bikes and while riding on the wooden fence about 10 feet away was a hawk. He was just sitting there watching us ride by. We actually locked eyes as I biked by. It was so awesome!! Then that night we took Bailey for her nightly walk and in the field was 6 deer. They just turned and looked at us but kept eating. So cool!! The next day I was walking Bailey and she almost stepped on a snake, yikes. Still pretty neat though, the snake didn't do anything just watched us. Yesterday we went out to eat and Tim picked Vietnamese to eat. After we were done we were driving on our way home. Stopped at a stop sign turned and looked and there in the guys driveway right in front of his garage was a huge buck deer. I can't believe all of the wildlife we have been seeing lately. I could definitely get used to this!!
