I'm not going to lie to you. The first night was ROUGH!! I don't know any mom that likes to hear their baby cry. But I knew in the long run I was doing what was best for the both of us. So I cried right along with him next to his crib. It lasted about an hour and he finally put himself back to sleep. He didn't get up again for the rest of the night. The next day his little eyes were so red and puffy from him crying. But I knew that this needed to be done. The next night he slept all the way through and has only woken up once that I had to go back in his room to let him know I was still there. The rest of the time he has put himself back to sleep. Good luck to all of you that also try this method. For us it has worked great!!
For anyone that has babies or toddlers I highly recommend this book. I originally heard about it from another Travel Nurse on Facebook that also has a son a little older than Garrett. Thankfully we have always put Garrett to bed when he was still awake so we've never had an issue with him falling asleep on his own. Our issue was that he would wake up 2-3 times a night and need a bottle to fall back asleep. Needless to say that was rough on all of us. With him being ten months old I also knew that in two months his bottle was going to be gone. So I knew I needed to nip this in the bud now!! I'm not going to lie to you. The first night was ROUGH!! Many of you know that I have been stressing over Garrett meeting his milestones. I've been googling, and reading and doing whatever I can to help him. Last night God gently reminded me that it is his time not mine for when Garrett will learn these things. I just need to enjoy my son. I don't need to worry about the big stuff. God has that all under control!! So thankful for a wonderful, loving God!! I have found an app that I play on our Samsung Galaxy notebook. It is called Bible for Kids and it is a video that shows bible stories. Garrett loves this!! So every morning after Breakfast we sit on the floor and watch the stories. It's our special time together. I love these little moments with my son.
