On that note we had our first VA visit for Tim. He served in the Gulf War in the Army and was in the military for several years. Due to serving in the Gulf War he is able to utilize all of the VA services. We've never had to use them previously but because we are now on the road that will be Tim's primary medical care.
We were both a little apprehensive from all of the horror stories we have heard about how bad the VA medical is. Well I can tell you our first visit was great. We had a Nurse Practitioner for our doctor and she spent about an hour with Tim here in Tucson. They were very thorough in all of the questions they asked him and were very polite and caring. We only waited in the doctors office for about 30 minutes before they called him back. They even recommended Tim to continue to get two of his prescriptions at Sam's club because it will be cheaper than getting them refilled at the VA.
Wow, that to me is very impressive!! The facility was so clean and the buildings were very beautiful. The pictures I took don't show how well the facility looked. I'm sure that not all VA facilities will be this nice but kudos to Tucson for making us have such an enjoyable first experience!!
Had our Tuesday Taco dinner down at the Rec hall here at the campground. There was a little girl there that was probably 4 years old and she took a liking to Garrett. It was so cute, she was patting his head and helping him play with his toys. He just kept grinning at her and was handing her his toys to play with. He is just such a good natured boy, and loves to play with other kids. I think I may look for a group here in Tucson that has other babies in it to meet up with for us to have a play date once or twice a week. Also was able to talk with my niece Alisha, her husband Josh and their little girl Kayley. Garrett loves talking to them on face time especially Josh, he actually reached for the phone for him. Bailey's favorite is Alisha and the moment she called for Bailey she was looking all over for her. So funny!! Miss them so much!!
We are enjoying our time here and just taking things slow. Tim works tomorrow but then has the next 5 days off so we think we are going to head to Phoenix to camp for a couple of days and see Tim's dad and girlfriend and a couple of other friends Tim had made while he was there last winter. Should be an enjoyable time!!
