Today we are preparing to leave to head to Las Vegas, NV to see our Niece Alex and our Sister In Law Sharon. We had a new passenger that wanted to come along with us. Can you guess what this is? I'll give you a hint, they sometimes eat their mate.
We finally got on the road about 11:30 heading to our first destination of Wikieup, AZ. We were using our Passport America for the RV Park which would cost us $10 for the night for a full hook up. Can't beat that!! We got on our way heading towards Phoenix. Passed the Phoenix Cardinals stadium. So cool, love it when we pass these kinds of places!!
We stopped in Phoenix to fill up our gas tank and top off our drinks since we knew it would be pretty barren until we got to Wikieup which was about a 2 hour drive from Phoenix. The scenery was amazing!! I love how quickly things change. I'll let the pictures tell the story.
Wonder what a Joshua Tree is? For some reason I thought it was some kind of cactus, but I was wrong! They are very interesting and we came into the area that said we were in the Joshua Tree Wilderness.
As most of you know Tim had put on a new Transmission Cooler that is supposed to help keep our Transmission cooler. So here comes some mountains we will be going up, lets see if this thing works. So far in the 105 degree heat it has been doing great!!
So far so good!! This drive is such a pretty one. I love that we can sometimes get off the highway and take other routes!! I sometimes detest the fact of having to take the highway when we are traveling with the RV. The backroads show so much more scenery and are just more interesting in general.
The views today were just awesome!! In some areas it was so lush and green. I told Tim that I bet this is what some of Ireland looks like!!
Garrett is such a good traveler for us. Sometimes he is sleeping and when he wakes up you don't know he is awake because he is just looking out the window. I'm definitely thankful for that since we are on the go so much. Here are a couple pictures of him playing in the backseat. He loves to play with his toys as well and we are always switching it up on him so he doesn't get bored. It's fun to watch him play since he uses his feet so much. He will take the toy and move the pieces. For example the red crab below, he pushes on it with his feet to make it talk to him. It is so funny to watch him!!
This drive has been so scenic.
We finally arrived to our RV Park, Dazzo's Country Store and RV Park in Wikieup, AZ. For $10 you can't beat it and our views weren't too bad either!!
