As most of you know in my last blog I mentioned that I had some additional motivation to help me with my weight loss. Well you are just going to have to wait......until the end of this blog post :) First things first. As most of you are aware we will be heading back to Ohio to help my mom with a knee surgery replacement that she is having. Tim's contract here in Providence, RI is up on April 8. We have several AMAZING recruiters that have been looking for us and Tim signed a contract yesterday with a start date of April 17. Where is he heading next?? Fremont, MI. He's pretty excited and the hospital sounds like it's going to be a great place to work.
One thing that I want to bring up to those looking into doing travel nursing is to always double check your contract. We had an issue with this one and had to send it back not once, not twice but three times before it was worded correctly. We always make sure that Tim's contract states guaranteed hours (we won't sign a contract without this in there) which was why it had to get sent back so many times. So make sure what you want (guaranteed hours, time off, etc) is in your contract worded the way you want it. All you have is that piece of paper if anything goes wrong :)
So we are very excited to be coming home to be with our families!! Tim's hospital he is at now has been great and they've scheduled him for the beginning of the week for his last week here. What does that mean for us? That means that on April 6 we will be pulling out of Rehoboth, MA and driving to Painted Post, NY to stop and see Tim's family for several days. We are so excited to see them!! We then will be pulling away (think convoy) with our truck and RV, a Penske truck, and a minivan. Why you ask?? Well because we are bringing our son, his wife, and their two sons back to Ohio with us :) We are excited for them to start this new journey with their life!!
We will pull in our driveway Monday night and can't wait to see all of my family!! We then will be home for approximately 1 week before Tim heads to Fremont, MI to begin his next contract. I'm sure it will go by in a whirlwind!!

ell Kathy that's all fine and good, but what's the BIG news?? Well.....the BIG news is.......about 3 weeks ago Tim applied for a Travel Nurse position working for the VA. The contract is 52 weeks and there were lots of travel nurses that applied for the position. We got a call last week that they were submitting 9 profiles and only 4 nurses would be chosen. Tim was one of those 9 profiles. They told us that they probably wouldn't have an answer on who the 4 chosen would be until that Friday so we would have to wait about 3 more days. Well later that same day we received a call from the recruiter that Tim had gotten the position!! So on July 31 he will be starting his next travel contract in........New Orleans!! We are so excited. This will open up so many doors for him and honestly contracts right now are a little scarce so this is a huge blessing for us. Plus New Orleans is on my bucket list :) I know some of you are thinking.....what.....you are taking Garrett to that place?? Honestly New Orleans is very family friendly and there will be lots of things that we can do. The RV park Pontchartrain Landing RV Park is in a very safe neighborhood and for those of you that know me you know I've already researched, LOL. So that is our BIG news. We will heading to New Orleans and on July 31, 2017 Tim will start his new contract and will be staying until July 28, 2018. So if anyone needs a vacation spot to come see the Big Easy let us know, we would love to have you!!
As far as my motivation goes for my weight loss, New Orleans has awesome food, but if I don't get to my goal weight I won't be able to enjoy it. So my motivation is to get down to my goal weight so I can (in moderation) have fun eating all the good stuff down in New Orleans :)
